Take a minute to read the nitty gritty…I strive for happy clients, so if you have any questions about these terms, just ask!
PLEASE NOTE:
These terms do not apply to licensing agreements.
PROJECT TIMELINE
I take projects on a first-come, first-serve basis. Smaller graphic jobs vary, contact us to see what is in the queue. If you have a specific project deadline, please let us know. Rush projects may incur a rush fee.
CONTRACT
Each client will be emailed a estimate detailing the work that will be done. The client will sign and return the form to Ellen Morse before the work begins. Any work requested outside of the terms of the quote will be billed at a separate rate.
DRAFTS
Web site designs include up to 3 revisions. After you review the first mockup or design, you will be asked to submit specific feedback. You should include all changes that you want made in writing. If the first mockup is completely unacceptable, a second mockup will be created based on your feedback. The same process would be used for a third mockup. Providing specific changes and examples will be necessary in order for the design to progress. Additional mockups or revisions can be completed for an additional fee.
WEBSITE CONTENT
Web site content should be submitted electronically when the project begins. Ellen Morse is not responsible for proofreading. Should you need extra help in this area, we have a few excellent copywriters that we work with for content writing and editing.
PRINT PROOFS
It is the client’s responsibility to carefully check all proofs that are going to print. We work with many print vendors that have been carefully selected for quality and affordability. In the rare event that a problem occurs, we will do what we can to resolve any issues. Please note: Ellen Morse is not responsible for misspellings or other errors made once the final proof has been signed off on and approved by you. Additional costs of re-runs may apply.
COMMUNICATION
I will be communicating with you often during the design process. Regular communication is critical to the design of your project and those in line behind you. Failure to communicate with me about the design process for a period of two weeks (whether expectedly or unexpectedly), will result in your project being placed on hold and moved to the end of the current queue.
PAYMENT
All projects require a 50% deposit. This deposit is non-refundable unless Ellen Morse must cancel work on the project.
Venmo, PayPal (direct payment or credit card payment) or payment by mail (check, cashier’s check, or money order) are accepted.
If you choose payment via PayPal, a 2% convenience fee will be added to your invoice.
Your project will be placed in the queue after the deposit has been received and cleared.
The remaining 50% balance from your quote is due at project’s completion. If for some reason work on the project lasts longer than 2 months, you will be invoiced monthly. Final files will not be released and/or site will not be launched until your bill is payed.
All invoices past 60 days due are subject to a 2% interest fee per month until paid
CANCELLATION
You reserve the right to cancel your project at any time, but given the custom nature of the work, please keep in mind the deposit is non-refundable.
COPYRIGHT & CREDIT
The copyright for your site is transferred to you upon delivery. The site design must be kept intact and not altered after installation. If you want to make changes to your design after installation, please contact us. Another designer may not make changes to the custom theme design without express permission from Ellen Morse. If you choose to remove any portion of the design, you must remove the complete design and use a new WordPress theme. You may not continue to use a premium theme provided as part of the design.
You may provide your own photos or stock images for use in your design. If you choose your own stock images, you are responsible for compliance with license/photography copyrights. Ellen Morse is not liable for photos or design elements that you provide.
USERNAMES & PASSWORDS
You are responsible for keeping track of, or supplying your usernames and passwords for WordPress or SquareSpace access, FTP access, hosting and domain name registration (where applicable). We will protect all usernames and passwords. If you have lost your passwords and need help accessing your files, we will grant a one-time grace period and help you with this. If you are continually without your passwords, an hourly fee for time will be assessed.
SITE UPDATES
After your site launches, we can provide training if you desire to make your own site updates. If your site is designed in WordPress, keep in mind many versions and plugin updates occur. Regular maintenance of your site to ensure it functions properly is HIGHLY recommended. Monthly maintenance programs are available. If you choose to not maintain your WordPress site then Ellen Morse is not responsible for security breaches.
BROWSER SPECIFICS
Blog and web designs are created to be compatible with the most recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Designs will be viewable in Internet Explorer, but – due to the quirky nature of Internet Explorer – there may be slight variations in how they display.
Portfolio
Unless otherwise noted, Ellen Morse reserves the right to use your project graphics in our portfolio.
